Management of Ensicaen hardware and software hardware

Management of Ensicaen hardware and software hardware
• Presentation: This teaching, entitled "Architecture and Computer Technology" is, as the name suggests, cut and thought with a dual approach:
1. A first conceptual in which we will be interested in the generic architectures of the computers, or rather the big families of digital processors (MCU, GPP, DSP, FPGA ...), in particular those revolving around CPU. Keywords: CPU, memory, bus, peripherals, cache, pipeline, registers, segmentation, paging, stack, heap ...
2. A second application on existing and current technologies. For material aspects, our choice naturally turned to Intel architectures, the undisputed leader of x86-compatible architectures (desktop, laptop ...). For the software aspects, we will dwell on the Linux implementations of the presented concepts. Linux is the leading operating system in the embedded world, especially on RISC 32bits architectures. Keywords: 8086, IA-32, Intel 64, MMX / SSE / AVX / AEX extensions, Sandy Bridge, Swap, cpuinfo ...
